World Cup 2014 : Fifa suspends Nigeria Football Federation for government interference

Fifa on Wednesday suspended the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect over "government interference". The decision, in the aftermath of Nigeria's World Cup last 16 loss, came after a court sacked the NFF and the government appointed a sole administrator for football in the country, shortly after the Super Eagles returned from Brazil. "The Fifa Emergency Committee has decided to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect, on account of government interference," a Fifa statement explained. Unless the suspension is lifted Nigeria will not be able to play in the upcoming Fifa Under-20 Women's World Cup scheduled for August 5-24 in Canada. Nigerians on Wednesday expressed shock and disappointment over the suspension. Randeep Hooda's Rang Rasiya To Clash With Happy New Year!

Randeep Hooda 's  Rang Rasiya , a period drama based on the life Raja Ravi Varma, will be released on October 23rd, 2014 by Jayantilal Gada of PEN India. Gada recently met with the director of  Rang Rasiya ,  Ketan Mehta  and finalised the date of its release. According to sources close to the film, "It was Ketan's birthday and Gada's thumbs-up to his film was the perfect birthday gift. Ketan has waited six years for the movie to see the light of day." On asking about the clash with Shah Rukh Khan's  Happy New Year , Gada said, "Shah Rukh is a big star and I'm not competing with him. But there is an angle in the film which justifies a Diwali release."
